비대면 폰테크 김민석 국무총리가 26일 국립 5·18민주묘지 참배 일정을 시작으로 광주광역시 일대를 돌며 지역 현안을 챙겼다. 최근 서울시정 비판, 공직사회 내란 종식 주도, 지역 순회 등 김 총리의 광폭 행보를 두고 서울시장이나 여당 대표 출마설이 꺼지지 않는 모양새다. 특히 대의원·권리당원 1인 1표제 논란으로 여당이 내홍을 겪으며 당대표 출마설에 무게가 실리고 있다.
김 총리는 이날 오전 경기 성남 서울공항에 도착한 이재명 대통령 부부를 맞이한 뒤 오후에는 광주에서 4개 일정을 이어갔다. 김 총리는 먼저 오후 2시쯤 광주 북구 국립5·18묘지를 찾아 참배했다. 김 총리는 참배 전 방명록에 “광주의 빛을 이어 국민의 삶과 주권을 꽃 피우겠습니다”라고 적었다.
김 총리는 이후 광주 서구를 찾아 기아 오토랜드 2공장을 시찰하고 송호성 기아 사장 등 경영진과 면담했다. 김 총리는 동천동 골목상권과 1913송정시장을 방문해 골목경제 정책을 논의하고 상인들의 애로사항을 청취했다.
김 총리는 최근 종횡무진 행보를 보인다. 12·3 불법계엄 가담 공직자를 조사하는 ‘헌법존중 정부혁신 태스크포스(TF)’ 구성을 직접 제안해 지휘하는 것은 물론 종묘 앞 재개발, 한강버스, 광화문광장 ‘감사의 정원’ 등 오세훈 서울시장의 역점 사업과 관련한 현장 점검도 진행했다.
김 총리가 전날 정부서울청사에서 진행한 국무회의는 모두발언·부처보고 등이 생중계됐다. 통상 대통령을 대신한 국무총리 주재 국무회의가 비공개로 진행됐다는 점에서 이례적이란 평이 나왔다. 김 총리는 회의 모두발언에서 “내란의 심판과 정리에는 어떤 타협도 지연도 있어선 안 된다”고 강조했다. 김 총리 같은 날 서울 도봉구 창동 ‘서울 아레나’ 공사 현장을 시찰했는데, 오 시장을 직접 겨냥한 발언은 없었으나 서울시정에 대한 견제 행보의 연장이란 해석이 나왔다.
정치권에선 김 총리의 종횡무진 행보를 두고 서울시장이나 차기 당대표 출마설이 제기되고 있다. 최근에는 당대표 출마설이 힘을 얻고 있는데 이는 정청래 민주당 대표가 일부 현안에서 대통령실과 엇박자를 내고, 당대표 선출 규칙 개정을 시도하면서 여당 내부에서 일부 파열음이 나오는 상황과 무관치 않아 보인다. 한 민주당 의원은 “정 대표의 리더십에 대한 불만을 가진 의원들은 김 총리가 차기 대표로 나서주기를 바라는 분위기가 분명히 있다”고 전했다.
정 대표 측은 김 총리의 당대표 출마설을 경계했다. 정 대표 측 인사로 분류되는 장경태 민주당 의원은 이날 YTN 라디오에서 김 총리의 지방선거·당대표 출마 가능성에 대해 “제가 보기에 둘 다 생각할 여지는 없으실 것”이라고 말했다. 박지원 의원도 전날 YTN 라디오에서 “김 총리가 다음 민주당 대표도 출마하지 않고 서울시장에도 출마하지 않겠다고 하는 얘기를 들었다”며 “(차기 대선으로) 바로 가는 것도 있고 다음다음 대표에 출마할 수도 있다”고 말했다.
김 총리 측은 박 의원 주장엔 “사실무근”이라고 밝혔다. 김 총리는 총리 역할을 더 하고 싶어하지만 임명권자인 이재명 대통령의 뜻에 따라 거취를 결정할 수밖에 없다는 게 총리 측 입장이다. 김 총리는 지난 24일 유튜브채널 <매불쇼>에 출연해 대표 출마 가능성에 대해 “임명권자가 있기 때문에 제가 ‘무엇을 하고 싶다’ ‘아니다’ 이런 얘기를 하는 건 좀 넘어서는 것 같다”며 즉답을 피했다. 다만 서울시장 출마와 관련해선 “제가 별로 생각이 없다는 얘기를 입이 민망할 정도로 말씀을 드렸다”고 말했다.
캄보디아 당국이 대리구매 방식으로 스캠 범죄를 저질러온 한국인들을 현지에서 무더기로 붙잡았다. 캄보디아에 코리아 전담밤이 설치된 이후 첫 성과다.
국가정보원은 캄보디아 당국과 공조해 지난 13일 캄보디아 시아누크빌에 있는 범죄조직의 본거지에서 한국인 조직원 17명을 붙잡았다고 27일 밝혔다.
지난 10일 캄보디아에 코리아 전담반(대한민국 국민을 위한 캄보디아·한국 공동 전담반)이 출범한 이후 스캠 조직을 적발한 것은 이번이 처음이다. 코리아 전담반은 앞서 한국인 대학생이 캄보디아에서 감금돼 사망한 사건을 계기로 생겼다.
스캠 조직은 정부기관을 사칭해 소상공인에게 사기를 쳤다. 소상공인에게 대규모 계약을 의뢰한 뒤 이를 미끼로 고가의 물품을 가짜 회사에서 구매하도록 하는 방식을 썼다. 이들은 자신의 범죄 수법이 언론 등을 통해 알려질 경우 군 부대를 사칭하기도 했다. 이 같은 방식으로 이들이 국내 소상공인에게 지난 5월부터 현재까지 벌어들인 범죄수익은 35억원에 달한다. 이 조직에는 한국인 이외에 중국인·태국인 등도 포함돼 있다.
국정원은 지난 7월 시아누크빌 카지노 일대에서 한국인 조직원이 활동하는 것을 포착하고 추적에 나섰다. 관련 정보는 ‘보이스피싱 정부합동수사단’에 공유됐고 이는 다시 캄보디아에 있는 코리안 전담밤을 통해 캄보디아 당국과 공유됐다. 국정원은 “코리아 전담반을 중심으로 캄보디아 경찰과 협력해 우리 국민을 노리는 초국가범죄조직을 끝까지 추적·발본색원해 나가겠다”고
